Hmmmm … well, I was thinking I could try describing my next wedding with one single word, but I couldn’t come up with just ONE. How about 4? Sweet, intimate, touching and inspiring?.
Right after I read Shaleen’s very first email to me I KNEW their wedding would be special. It was definitely not one of those emails were you think that the bride copy pasted her wedding details into 50 emails and sent them to all the photographers in the area she could think of. After we exchanged a few emails, I had the pleasure meeting them both in NY for our “interview” that made me even more excited about their big day! What should I say, the engagement session was a whole lot of fun (even if we got into quite some rain!), it was so nice getting to know them and hearing about how they met and how Dan proposed (Shaleen, I think I’ll have to ask you to type that story up for me at some point, it’s just too sweet!) and I gotta say, they could have not chosen a better venue for their celebration! The Cob Hill Estate is a truly wonderful place, overlooking the NH hills; very intimate and close to nature with a wonderful rustic feel. Now, I have been to quite a few weddings … and uhm … seen a lot of wedding shows (probably too many if you ask my husband), and there are so many brides that get lost in all their details and love for perfection – not saying that this wedding wasn’t perfect, in fact … it WAS! Shaleen & Dan did SUCH a beautiful job making the day all about them and their love for each other. The ceremony was just SO wonderful … uhm, I *think* I might have seen some tears here and there … I gotta say, the vows & letters really got me (more about that later), the whole atmosphere was just so relaxed and everybody had a wonderful time – what do you want more? A perfect wedding.
Sooooo … as mentioned … I knew Shaleen would come up with some cute details, but little did I know just HOW creative she (uhm … they) would be! It doesn’t happen often that I want to take my camera out before I see the bride, but … this time was different! Look what Shaleen & Daniel prepared for the guests to read on the way to the Estate (the first few photos were taken by my lovely second shooter, Sharona)
Look at that beautiful garter and handkerchief … that both of them used to wipe away their tears during their ceremony:
Shaleen’s sister helped her with her make-up:
Shaleen decided to wear the pearl necklace, Daniel gave her on their first (!) date. How wonderful!
Mrs gorgeous:
Just love this one:
My goodness, do I love this photo of you Shaleen!
And some of sweet Dan:
Love this one that Sharona took :o))
Soso pretty!
Love this one, caught by Sharona:
Shaleen & Daniel sealed a box with letters for each other and letters from their parents as well as a bottle of wine that I think they’ll get to open on their 10th anniversary! What a wonderful idea! I’ve only seen one couple do something similar. LOVE the idea and boy do I want to be a fly on your wall when you read those letters! <3
Shaleen & Daniel planned in a few minutes for just themselves after the ceremony – they’re so sweet! :o))
Look at that!!! I’d say that’s ONE HAPPY groom! :o))
And look at those perfect favors! Love, love, love!
Down to the Thank You tag, just perfect!
Loved this little guy :o) At their engagement session we had a little snail visit us, and this time we had a caterpillar, how fitting :o) Bet you had butterflies on your honeymoon ;o))
Guestbook, but of course not the ordinary kind! No, Shaleen & Dan asked their guests to find and circle words in an old dictionary that “define their love”:
And how pretty and fitting is the sitting chart? How creative!
Loved the cake too! Birch style!
Let’s talk about dragon flies :o)) They were EVERYWHERE (and I thought we had a mosquito problem, haha!). I honestly didn’t see any the day off, but when I started processing the photos they were just everywhere! So, when I opened up the below photo, my eye automatically wandered to the roof of the house …. so I zoomed in … that was not a dragon fly … those were TWO birds! I mean … come on right?!?! I guess it was a lucky catch also as I took about 4 shot of the same pose and one of the birds must have only been there for a little while as this is the only photo with both birdies in it. Yup, you guys are THAT lucky – and nope, there’s no photoshop magic involved in that one! :o) … and … if I may say so … that one killer sunset shot in my book (you guys know I don’t like posing my couples in front of sunsets – but every once in a while there is a time and place for it) :o)
This one was actually taken at night. I prefer the light sepia version to the color for some reason (and yup, that’s the moon). And with this photo I am finishing this beautiful set. I hope you guys enjoyed the sneak peek, the full gallery will be available later tonight to start chilling the champagne and make yourself a cozy evening :o)
Thank you for letting me capture your beautiful event, Shaleen & Dan – best wishes for a wonderful life together!
A special thank you to my second photographer Sharona Jacobs, for shooting with me that day (some of her photos are included in this post)
